The Shop

The CB Shack is one of the largest independent CB radio and truck accessory stores in the UK. It is based inside Poplar 2000 Services, a modern, purpose-built truck stop with a capacity for 400 trucks, in Lymm, Cheshire. The shop has been in it's present location since 1994 when the whole site first opened, since then it's gone from strength to strength and is now one of the most popular stops along the M6 for thousands of lorry drivers. The Proprietors

The CB Shack is owned and run by Cliff and Jill Patten.

Cliff has been in the CB business for nearly 30 years, he is a qualified radio engineer, and has also held a Class "A" Amateur Radio licence for over 20 years. He became interested in CB when the first few sets trickled in from the 'States many years ago, the hobby became a business, and the rest, as they say is history. Over the years Cliff has made numerous TV and Radio appearances on the subject, and in the '70s he put in many hours of work to "pursuade" the Government to legalise CB Radio in the UK.

Jill has been involved in the business for many years, but joined the company full time when it moved to Lymm, bringing her considerable retail knowledge and flair to the business.

The Staff

All of our staff are friends or family. This ensures that the person who deals with you has a real interest in looking after you. They deal with thousands of HGV drivers a week, and know the business inside out - If you need advice, this is the place to come! We also operate a fully-equipped modern workshop, so if you are unlucky enough to have a problem with your CB or electrical accessory we have the capability to sort it out quickly, usually in your 45 minute driving break.

Our Service

Simply, we aim to treat people the way we would like to be treated. We are fair and honest in our dealings with our suppliers and customers. Ours is a family business, not some faceless corporation with dozens of outlets, so you won't have to search in the small print just to find our phone number! We are not just another Internet shop that simply "Moves boxes," we have been in the Truck accessory retail business a LONG time, so we talk your language and are always happy to give free advice. And we promise we will NEVER get one of those annoying phone systems....
